About Our College
Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology(MVIT), with its motto, Educate, Empower and Excel, is a premier Autonomous institution run by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust and was established in the year 2008, with a view to provide quality technical education to young citizens and participate in technological progress of our Nation. The Institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to Pondicherry University. The institute is accredited by NAAC with ‘A; grade and NBA.
MVIT is situated on the Pondicherry – Villupuram National highway (NH-45A) in Madagadipet, Pondicherry, South India. Our institution is located in the integrated campus which spread over an area of 75 acres, comprising buildings of high-standard, classrooms with proper ventilation, ICT facilities, adequate laboratories, auditorium, conference hall, Audio Visual Room, Central Library, and Digital Library. Solar power plant with 311 KW capacity is installed to generate electricity that is used in classrooms, offices, and hostels to minimize the cost of energy and settle for a sustainable alternative.
The core values of the institute includes Commitment to Excellence, Innovation, Integrity, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Responsibility.
MVIT houses the Centre of Excellence (CoE) which helps to channelize the knowledge, skill and creates a synergistic combination capable bridging the gap between development and application of niche technologies. The CoE has been established in collaboration with Google, IBM, Texas Instruments, Autodesk, eplan, CISCO and Microsoft.
An effective Training and Placement Cell is in place to provide placement to all our students. Focus is given to Co-Curricular activities and Extra Curricular through various clubs and societies instituted to augment the student’s skills and knowledge. The Institute has 41 functioning cells/clubs/committees to execute these curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
An effective R&D cell is functioning in the Institute to promote research oriented activities among the faculty and student. The Idea Club, Venture (Start Up) Club and innovation Club arranges for many activities to foster the culture of innovation, explore the possibilities of incubation and creation of start ups among the young minds. IQAC of our institution is effectively functioning to improve the quality of teaching learning process, facilities required for the students and faculty members to enhance their activities.
The college has an active Industry Institute Interaction Cell(IIIC) which ensures that the graduating students are “Industry Ready” by forging strong interaction with relevant Industries. The IIIC Cell identifies the industrial expectations and prepares the students accordingly through appropriate seminars, expert lectures, workshops, competitions, industrial visits, inplant training, internships and live projects. To foster the culture of industrial practice in the institution, the institute has signed MoU with 52 industries. Apart from membership with professional bodies the institute has also membership with industrial associations such as CII, NIPM, NIQR, PDYHRC, ISHRAE, MMA.
MSME-supported Technology Business Incubator cell is functioning to provide a springboard to budding entrepreneurs who wish to launch themselves into the world of technology-based business careers. The institute has incubated 3 start-ups in the campus and one start up Ignite Skylabs, is currently functioning in the campus.

Being a native of a rural village in Villupuram District, It has been my ambition to transform the poor rural Indian population into a socially and economically well developed Society. I strongly believe that Modern Education alone can bring the required social transformation in order to uplift the rural backward population. We have set our Mission based on the above ambition.
Our Mission is to Serve the Society through technical intervention and to create socially responsible Professionals. In order to achieve this Mission, Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology was established in the year 2008 in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
We are very much conscious of the changing needs of the Society; we always emphasize on imparting education and training to our students beyond the prescribed syllabus to make them responsible & disciplined citizens to serve the society.
It gives me great pleasure to note that, for providing Modern Education to the Student Community, in our Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology, we have created worldclass infrastructure including Centre of Excellence, Digital Library, Specialized Labs and facilities apart from a Team of well qualified, well experienced and efficient Faculty members. The continuous upgrading of facilities has brought our Institution to the forefront of the Higher Educational scenario in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
